PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Pharmacodynamic Properties

Toldimphos belongs to the group of aromatic phosphorus compounds and has a stimulating and regulatory effect on metabolism. Phosphorus is an important element that participates in most vital processes. Toldimphos stimulates metabolism. In this way, it increases blood calcium levels without the need for calcium administration, normalizes GOT values, and has beneficial effects on serum cholesterol levels.

Pharmacokinetics Properties

Elimination in dogs shows that approximately 90% of the substance is recovered in the urine 4 hours after intravenous injection and 8 hours after intramuscular injection. After 24 hours, 97% to 93% of the substance is eliminated. Toldimphos is excreted unchanged in dogs.

It is rapidly absorbed and distributed in the body. In cattle, maximum plasma concentrations are observed within 10 to 20 minutes after intramuscular administration. Elimination primarily occurs via the urinary tract. Repeated dosing does not lead to biological accumulation of the product.

AREA OF USE/INDICATIONS
It is used for the prevention and treatment of phosphorus deficiency in cattle, sheep, goats, horses, cats, and dogs.

USAGE AND DOSAGE
It is administered via intravenous, intramuscular, or subcutaneous injection. The dosage should be determined by the veterinarian based on the animal's phosphorus needs and condition. The recommended doses are as follows:

In cattle, sheep, goats, and horses, 10 mg/kg (practically 1 ml per 20 kg of body weight)

In cats and dogs, 20 mg/kg (practically 0.5 ml per 5 kg of body weight).

Generally, 3-5 administrations with a 3-day interval are sufficient. In emergency situations, half of the dose can be given intravenously, and the remaining amount can be administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously.

In cases of chronic deficiency, 5-10 administrations (intramuscular or subcutaneous) with 48-hour intervals may be applied.

SPECIAL CLINICAL INFORMATION AND SPECIAL WARNINGS FOR TARGET SPECIES

It should be used with caution in animals with renal dysfunction. In horses, when administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly, it is recommended that the dose be applied to more than one site.
